Lenny the Ox in South Freo

Girls and I decided to sneak out for a cheeky afternoon and check out Lenny the Ox in South Freo. We walked in and headed for the counter while checking out the decor and saying, ‘Ooh, lovely.’ Windows wide open with seating both inside and outside. A gentleman sitting in the corner working away on his laptop with three wood panel paintings hanged on the wall next to him. We quickly decided on our orders, a smoothie and a jaffle for me.

I got chatting with Leanne Ford, who I was delighted to find out is the creative mind behind Ootong and Lincoln and has partnered up to open up this gem of a cafe. Within minutes we were discussing the beauty behind independent cafe scene and the quality that comes with it, something I am always quietly excited to chat about for hours. What makes a cafe stand out, it almost goes without saying, are unique design elements that are chosen based on location or the street. So that, you are not just filling up space with some chain establishment rather you are taking the esthetics into consideration and creating a place that puts you in a happy frame of mind even if it’s just for a brief moment.

Lenny the Ox is a beautiful cafe and now I know where to go when I have a hankering for a good smoothie and yearning for a Paris like vibe in my own neighborhood….

Thank you Katherine :). Heather and I were just chatting about connections and memories we create in cafe gatherings and how we need to do it more often.
